The ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ ex confirms a strange movie detail

The ex-wife of the Wolf of Wall Street spills tea, but not a drop of wine.

Nadine Macaluso, who was married to fraudster Jordan Belfort for 14 years and was later played by Margot Robbie in the 2013 film, uses her popular TikTok account to open up about her failed first marriage and the accuracy of Martin Scorsese’s Hollywood film .

Some on-screen story elements are obviously embellished for dramatic effect, but one is remarkably precise.

In a recent post that has been liked more than 5,700 times so far, the therapist and marriage counselor confirmed that one strange detail from the Leonardo DiCaprio drama is completely true: Macaluso actually drinks her red wine through a straw.

During a scene in the Oscar-nominated film, DiCaprio, as Belfort, and Robbie are sitting at a table in a restaurant when she calls over the waiter and asks, “Can I please have a straw?”

“I don’t want to ruin my veneers and it’s working,” Macaluso, 55, says in the TikTok video. “It keeps them white.”

In an earlier post, Macaluso, who shares two children with her ex-husband, admitted that in early 2010 she was terrified about the trauma of her relationship being shown on the big screen.

In addition to his financial improprieties, Belfort, now 61, cheated on his young wife and was an unpredictable drug addict.

“I was terrified,” she said. “I had already experienced this complete Greek tragedy and then it was going to be spread all over the world. My trauma for the world to see.”

But she added: “Suddenly I realized that it was going to happen and that it was bigger than me… And ironically what happened was that in my therapy practice people said to me, ‘Wait, I want to come see you. as a therapist, because you’ve been through that and you’ve come here and this is the life you live, you do what you say.’”

Nadine is now married to businessman John Macaluso, who has three children from a previous marriage, and lives in California.
